Tadeevo Volcanic Grey
On July 30, 2020 by NoeliaI got these second hand at the beginning of my transition to barefoot shoes. They are truly minimalist and feel more like a sock than a shoe.
Company
Tadeevo is a small company is Southern Poland interested in creating ultra-minimalist footwear and are not interested in mass production. They have scientists and craftsmen collaborating in order to to emulate barefoot walking as closely as possible.
Barefoot Qualities / Design
- Wide toe box: It accommodates wide feet, but might feel tight for high volume feet. Because it is more square-shaped, it can be worn by different foot shapes.
- Flexibility: Both torsion and bending!
- Zero drop: No heel drop and no toe lift.
- Upper: Breathable and durable mesh + natural velour leather.
- sole material: Tadeevo Ultraflex rubber
- Stack height: 5 mm
- Lightweight: 6.3 oz for a size 42.
- No artificial stabilization.
- No removable insole
Sizing
Tadeevo recommends getting your usual size.
They provide a sizing chart where you can find your foot’s measurements. Just make sure you are measuring the outline of your foot, from the middle of the heel to your longest toe.
My feet are 24.7 cm long when measuring its length on an outline. According to their sizing chart, I am right at the edge of sizes 39 and 40.
My Tadeevo Volcanic Grey are size 39. When I first got them, I thought they were plenty long. I added an insole and wore them with socks. Now, I wear them without the insole and without socks!
The majority of people feel the same way. These shoes start feeling like they are too long, but just give your feet time to adjust. You might want to try adding an extra insole.
Price and shipping
This model goes for $109.
Tadeevo is now offering free shipping around the world AND you should get your shoes in 7 days! What!?!
The only form of payment they accept is PayPal, where you can sign up for their Free Return program.
They accept returns, but at the buyer’s expense. This is where PayPal’s program comes in handy… they will refund the return shipping expense.
Opinion
I really like my Tadeevos. They are the most lightweight pair of tennis shoes I own. If you notice, they don’t come with a pre-made shape at their uppers, but it molds to your foot’s shape.
It took me a while to get used to them because:
– I was used to having my shoes “hug” my feet – no extra space to splay.
– Very thin sole
– It felt like I had a lot of extra space in front of my toes.
I’m still new in the minimalist shoe-wearing world and I’m learning about what is good for my feet and gait. Choosing good footwear is one of the most important and drastic changes for me. These Tadeevos are helping me in my journey 😁.
Let me know if there is anything else you would like to know about these shoes, I would love to answer your questions!
