Naboso Mat
On February 21, 2022 by NoeliaI bought my standing mat when I started teaching remotely. Before that, I’ve been barefoot at home, I was hiking with barefoot sandals or completely barefoot, I’ve been wearing barefoot shoes for 9 months, and doing strengthening exercises for 6.
I’m a teacher and my classroom is in the basement of an old building. I have concrete floors and by the end of the first day back, feet were not happy at all. After the first week, I knew I had to change something. I bought sandals with thicker soles to see if that would help, but it did very little for my feet. I then started to wear my Naboso insoles and I felt an immediate difference. My feet were craving texture!
After I shared my experience on Insta, Naboso Technology reached out and offered a 25% off their standing mat. I could not refuse that offer and I bought it.
It was an investment, but one that has benefited my whole body, not only my feet! I am working hard on fixing my alignment and this mat has helped me in that journey.

My experience
I love my mat! I really like having it in my work space when I’m working remotely.
Standing in one spot is far more tiring than walking because the demands are being made on the same few muscles for a longer period of time.
Having my mat in my working space means I’m barefoot and more aware of my movements throughout the day. I do toe yoga while working! One of the biggest differences I notice is the feedback my feet receive. The soles of our feet are the only part of our bodies touching the ground all the time, our brain needs that feedback to signal our muscles to keep us balanced and to change our gait to protect bones and joints. We usually receive this feedback from different surfaces while we walk, but because we are standing for long periods of time and the surface is hard, our feet crave this feedback in order to send it to our brain.
For me, using my mat when I’m standing for long periods of time, gives my feet some release. At the end of the day, my feet are not as tired and my plantar fasciitis doesn’t act up as much.
Just be aware that this is not a cure to foot pain, but a tool you can use to create movement and make sure our brain receives all the feedback our feet are designed to send. I utilize this mat to create movement.
