Peerko Celebrate Night
On October 12, 2021 by NoeliaI feel so lucky I got to test one of the cutest models from Peerko, the Celebrate Night. They offer a classy look of beautifully-made, trendy, leather oxfords that are barefoot and part of the slow fashion movement.
I was introduced to this brand last fall, when I bought my Empire boots, which have become one of my most prized possessions. I love all the models and I appreciate the care it goes into each one of their shoes.
I received my Celebrate Night as a gift for review, but my opinion is my own.

Company
Peerko is a Czech based brand that started making barefoot shoes in 2018. They work with physiotherapists and shoe designers to create beautiful and healthy shoes.
Is the company ethical? Yes. Peerko cares about the wellbeing of its workers, from the people that produce the raw materials to the people that manufacture their shoes.
Peerko sources its materials from EU companies, which has one of the strictest regulations in the world. Their leather is tanned with trivalent chrome, which is safe for both, worker and wearers of the leather.
Peerko hires several family-owned workshops in the Czech Republic to manufacture their shoes in order to guarantee the workers are receiving good treatment and pay. Even though it would be cheaper to produce their shoes in India or China, they choose to keep the long-term expertise, dedication, and personal approach of their EU workers.
Keeping manufacturing close also allows them to supervise the process and pay attention to the details. If you’ve ever seen a Peerko shoe, you know it is beautifully made, and you can see it was NOT massed produced.
Materials
Uppers: Leather
Sole: Recyclable thermoplastic rubber, which is glued and sewn on.
The leather of the Celebrate is what makes this shoe special. It has a sparkly finish that elevates any outfit from ordinary to a smart-casual outfit.
Design
- Zero drop: 3.5 mm sole + 1.5 mm insole. No arch support, no toe spring, no elevated heel.
- Flexible
- Wide: for size 40, the outsole is 10.5 cm in width.
- Foot-shaped: It is rounder, which means it fits different foot shapes (from sloped to mountain).
The Celebrate Night are the perfect oxford shoes. They can become the staple in your wardrobe, regardless of your style. They go great with a neutral blazer and jeans as well as skirts, dresses, culottes – whatever your style is. After all, Oxfords have been part of women’s wardrobes since the 40’s.
The Celebrate Night are comfortable, lightweight, and playful. Perfect for any occasion.
Sizing and Fit
Peerko recommends measuring your feet with a foot tracing. That means, you need to trace your feet on a piece of paper and measure from the middle of your heel to the tip of your longest toe. To this measurement, you will need to add 7-10 mm (or more if you are an experienced barefoot walker) and then find that measurement on their sizing chart.
My foot is 25 cm in length and I wear size 40, which has an internal length of 26.2 cm, giving me 12 mm of extra space. Size 39 would only give me 5 mm of extra space and I prefer bigger than smaller.
Tips for measuring your feet:
- Stand on a piece of paper with all your weight on your foot.
- Trace it with a pencil that is at a 90 degree angle to the floor.
- Retrace it, just to make sure you got it right.
How to wear them
There are tons of different ways to wear your Celebrate Night. Here are some ideas:
- Skinny jeans with a crisp, white shirt.
- Pants that are short at the ankle (you can scuff them) with a loose fitting shirt, tshirt, sweater, or blazer.
- Midi length dress with a blazer.
- Loose fitting mini dress.
Tips for styling them:
- No socks.
- If wearing with pants, make sure you show a couple of inches of your ankles. You can cuff your jeans or pants.
- Wear eye-catching prints and colors.
Shoe Care
As with any leather shoe, you can condition the leather and make it waterproof.
I did get my shoes dirty and used water to take off some of the dirt and the Charmberlain’s leather milk, Formula No.2 to finish cleaning them. I also used the Formula No. 1 to condition.
Opinion
It is very difficult to find formal barefoot shoes and these Celebrate Night are the perfect pair for work and special occasions.
They look super-smart and classy while being healthy for our feet at the same time.
I like the values of the company and I will continue supporting them.
